Job Description

1.Engineering & Development
• Architect, develop, and optimize complex WooCommerce projects for enterprise B2B/B2C clients
• Build custom plugins, themes, and WooCommerce extensions tailored to unique business requirements
• Integrate third-party systems — ERP, CRM, payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, VNPay, Momo), shipping providers, POS
• Optimize site performance — Core Web Vitals, caching strategies, CDN, database query optimization
• Design and implement Headless WooCommerce solutions with React/Next.js when required
• Enforce security best practices — WordPress hardening, PCI-DSS compliance, SSL/TLS
• Write unit and integration tests to maintain code coverage standards
2. Technical Leadership & Architecture
• Define technical architecture and drive key engineering decisions across WooCommerce projects
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices across the team
• Create and maintain technical documentation and internal knowledge base
• Research and propose emerging technologies aligned with the product roadmap
• Collaborate with DevOps to set up CI/CD pipelines and manage staging/production environments
3. Team Management & Mentoring
• Lead a team of 3–8 developers, assign tasks, and track delivery progress
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level team members
• Participate in sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives (Agile/Scrum)
• Estimate effort, manage technical debt, and maintain the sprint backlog
4. Client & Stakeholder Engagement
• Work directly with clients to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Present technical solutions, demo products, and provide progress updates to stakeholders
• Consult clients on eCommerce strategy and technology selection


Requirements

Must-Have
• 5+ years of experience in web development with PHP and WordPress
• 3+ years of hands-on WooCommerce experience — custom plugin development, checkout customization, payment gateway integration
• Proficiency in WooCommerce Hooks & Filters API and WooCommerce REST API
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead or Senior Developer in an Agile environment
• Strong MySQL skills — query optimization, indexing, relational database design
• Experience integrating payment gateways — Stripe, PayPal, VNPay, Momo, or equivalent
• Solid foundation in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery, and React
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
• Proficient in Git workflows — GitFlow, branching strategies, pull request reviews
• Knowledge of web security principles and WordPress hardening techniques
• English proficiency for reading technical documentation; basic client communication
Nice-to-Have
• Experience with Headless WooCommerce / Decoupled architecture — Next.js, Nuxt.js
• Familiarity with WooCommerce Subscriptions, WooCommerce B2B, or WPML
• Background with other eCommerce platforms — Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce
• Experience deploying on AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Knowledge of ElasticSearch or Algolia for product search
• WooExperts, WordPress VIP, or equivalent certification
• Strong English communication skills for direct client calls and presentations
