Job Description

● Install, configure, and maintain MySQL/PostgreSQL and MongoDB database systems.
● Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries and indexes.
● Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies.
● Ensure database security, access control, and data integrity.
● Perform regular database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
● Collaborate with developers to optimize database schema and support application performance.
● Create and maintain technical documentation, including database standards and procedures.
● Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents in a timely manner.
● Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for production environments


Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
● 3+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL administration.
● Strong knowledge of database architecture, replication, clustering, and sharding.
● Proficient in SQL query tuning and performance optimization techniques.
● Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Percona Toolkit).
● Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.
● Experience with automation/scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible) is a plus.
● Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, MongoDB Atlas) is an advantage.
